Transparency & Accountability

For our part as leaders, we want a high level of transparency and accountability. This takes place in two areas:

First, we adhere to best practices, or even beyond best practices in the ways in which we have multiple checks and safeguards. This is all the way from money counting on Monday morning (no one does that alone) to eyes on all expenditures (four different sets of eyes, two of which are not staff or employees of the church and are professionals in the area of accounting).

Second, we want to communicate well with you, our congregation, about our present budget, year-to-date spending, and our plans for future expenditures. We do this through a variety of methods:

• The weekly church newsletter

• Members or congregational meetings

• Membership classes

• An “open books” policy on our budget. That is, at any time members can schedule a meeting with the executive pastor and ask how much has been spent, when, and to what vendor, in a given area.

Current Budget

Finally, we’re posting the current budget on the website. And this will be the full, detailed budget. For instance, you won’t see just “youth” or “missions” or “building”, you’ll see how much we plan on spending for things like curriculum for children’s Sunday School, or how much we spend on electricity or natural gas, or how much we spend on health insurance for employees.

If you’re a member and would like to view the current budget, email Pastor Ron or Cindy.
