Service Opportunities

 

Helping Others through Service Opportunities is one means of Growing Spiritually.   WSCC provides the following Service Opportunities:

Children's Ministry volunteers

  • Nursery: serve approximately once every six weeks at either 9 or 11 a.m. service.
  • Compass Kids Jr. (preschool): serve one service three months on, then have three months off. 
  • Compass Kids (K-5th grade): serve one service three months on, then have three months off.
  • King's Kids  (midweek, preschool through 5th grade).

Ministry Team volunteers

  • Decorating Team: If you would enjoy creating a quality touch to enhance the environment of WSCC, this may be for you. Time requirement will vary by the season and project.
  • Greeting Team: Serve once a month at the 9 and 11 a.m. service, greeting people at the door and handing out flyers and bulletins as needed.
  • Hospitality Team: This team serves refreshments in order create an environment where people can connect and build relationships.  The goal of this team is to help people feel welcomed and wanted.
  • Medical Response Team: be on call to provide rapid on site emergency medical intervention at WSCC and select off-site activities. Two team members will be scheduled for each worship service.
  • Parking Lot Greeter Team: Serve one Sunday per month on a rotating schedule. You must be physically able to be outdoors in all weather conditions and desire to present a positive, friendly, professional image.
  • Security Team: At WSCC, providing a "safe place" is more than a motto; it's a practice. Our Security Team helps provide safety for everyone at West Side, especially our children.
  • Special Events Team: If you enjoy planning for a party of celebrations, this is the team for you!
  • Trustee Team: If you are skilledwith building and hands-on talents, then this is a great place for you to get involved. Projects are varied and members of the Trustee Team will be called on as their abilities are needed.
  • Ushering Team: This team serves others by helping them feel welcomed and wanted by making sure there is a place for them to worship. Ushers also provide information about the facility, such as restrooms, Nursery, and Quiet Room.
  • Welcome Center Greeter Team: Serve one Sunday per month starting at 8:20 a.m. and ending after the second service. This involves greeting people at the Welcome Center and providing resources and/or information.

Outreach Opportunities

  • Help distribute turkeys to families in the Grawn area the Sunnday before Thanksgiving.
  • Help with Freedom Builders home repair projects.

 Short Term Missions Trips
