
Mission Funding
West Side Community Church is faithfully supported through tithes and offerings. It is through this faithful giving that WSCC is to accomplish the mission, passion and vision for our world. All tithes and offerings are used in the following areas: the first 10% for missions, 10% for our building fund and 10% for benevolence and evangelism. West Side operates the ministry on the remaining 70%. All financial gifts are tax deductible under the IRS Federal Tax code 501c3.
Haiti
Jean Heder Petit Frere pastors in a large church in the capital city of Porte Prince, Haiti. He also operates a school with a food program for the children of the school. Jean owns and operates a national radio station where he is able to minister all across Haiti with the gospel of Christ.
Mexico
Martin and Elsa Hernandez travel to mountain villages in Mexico, and minister to people by preaching the gospel. Martin also operates a youth center serving older teens who are homeless and oftentimes dealing with addictions. Martin and Elsa have one daughter named Ashley.
Dan & Pada Merillat serve as missionaries in Thailand teaching English in schools and ministering to people in churches throughout all of Thailand. They have two boys, Samuel and Benjamin.
Freedom Builders operates under the vision of Skip Brown and strives to rebuild the lives of others one home at a time. Together with social agencies, volunteers and the support of area churches, Freedom Builders conducts home improvement and repair projects for the less fortunate members of the community. Skip is passionate about developing relationships with the people Freedom Builders ministers to by sharing the life-changing message of Christ's love with them.
North Shore Outdoor Ministries
Under the direction of Dawn McConnell, NSOM is designed to train teenagers to take an active part in evangelism. NSOM reaches out to people through sports camps, adventure trips and work projects in Northern Michigan.
Single Mom Ministry is a local ministry that is an extension of Jesus' love and care of single mothers. It educates moms with faith-based financial & budget counseling, career coaching and parenting classes and seminars. It also connects single mothers with practical resources and helps meet their needs.
After making two trips to Africa and seeing first hand the afflicted and orphaned, Dave Kase was called into full-time ministry with Christ’s Hope USA. This organization addresses the AIDS pandemic by offering Care and Compassion visits, “Choose to Wait” instruction to the youth, and orphan care - all in the name of Jesus. As National director for Christ’s Hope USA, Dave administers the U.S. aspect of this international organization.
The Lily of the Valley Orphange is located in Aldama, Mexico. Currently there are over 120 children. Every child came from a poverty-stricken environment; some from prison where they lived with an incarcerated parent, some from garbage dumps, some abandoned by family, and some tortured by family or others.
